9)     Background of The First World War

The First World War of 1914-18 was caused by imperialist countries competing with each other. The secret treaty system was the most important thing that led to the First World War. German Chancellor Bismarck started the practise of secret treaties in Europe, and he was the first person to do so. It split Europe into two different groups. The distrust and hatred between the two groups grew. A bad smell filled the air in politics. In 1879, Germany and Austria-Hungary signed a secret treaty that they didn't tell each other about. In 1882, Italy also joined the group, making it three. There were no other countries in the world politics at the time. Germany and Russia were found to be the only two countries in the world. It was only to make France feel bad that Germany had signed a treaty with them. France was on fire with vengeance inside. So, in 1894, France signed a treaty with Russia, which is when they did that. In 1894, England was joined by Japan. In 1902, England and Japan were joined by England and Japan. In 1904, he signed a treaty with France. In 1907, he signed a treaty with Russia. Thus, Europe, which was split into two political camps, became a place for war.

A threesome of England, France, Russia, and Japan was on the one hand. The other group was made up of Germany, Austria, Hungary, Italy, and Turkey. Both groups wanted to get arms from each other.

As many European countries tried to expand their empires in the Balkan countries of 1912 and 1913, they made the First World War inevitable. Austria and Russia also wanted to get more power in the region. People in the Balkans were competing with each other about being an imperial power. This led to a role for world war in the region.

Secret treaties aren't the only reason for the First World War.

WHY IS THERE A WORLD WAR?

1 Nationalist fury (Furious Nationality)

Because of their fierce nationality, the First World War also came into being. There were also a lot of strong nationalist feelings in small countries like Greece and Serbia, as well as in big countries like the United States and China. They wanted more Greece, more Bulgaria, and more Serbia. This is how it worked: The Czechs and the Slavics were causing trouble in Europe so that they could achieve their national goal. People in Europe started moving around the world to show people how their civilization, culture, and religion worked. The fight was inevitable at that point because they were trying to spread their ideas.

2 Rivalry in the field of business (Economic Rivalry)

During the Industrial Revolution, a lot of things happened that made a big difference in how the countries of Europe made money. Capitalism was born. Capitalists wanted to colonise so they could invest more money. There was also a need for a colony because there were more people living there. The only way to solve this problem was for the empire to grow. Thus, the fight over the colony began. Because the capitalist countries were competing for business, there was a lot of hatred and distrust between them. went.

3 Imperialists compete against each other (Imperialist Competition)

The First World War was caused by the imperialist race, which was a big part of it. Following the Industrial Revolution, Europe had to deal with how to buy commercial goods and raw materials to run factories. In empire-expansion, there was a solution to this problem. Trying to expand their empires led to more international rivalries. People in Africa and China were the victims of this competition.

4 Militarism and weapons

There were a lot of countries in Europe that were interested in militarism and weaponry because of their fiery nationalist and imperialist views. They began to spend 85 percent of their money preparing for war. People were afraid and suspicious, so each country began to stockpile war materials, making each country ready for war.

5 False propaganda of newspapers

A lot of mud was being thrown at each other before the First World War. This hurt each other's feelings about their country. Newspapers sometimes made fun of the question between the two countries in a way that made people feel bad.

6 France has a "Revenge Spirit"

The defeat of France led to the unification of Germany. France had to give up the land of Alsus-Larene. France did not forget the humiliation that happened to their country. They wanted to get back at Germany. Germany was against France when they were in Morocco. This caused a split between them.

7 Anarchy in the world (International Anarchy)

At this time, there was a lot of chaos in Europe because of the wars. Each country broke international rules. This means that any country could make a deal with its enemy to protect itself from harm. This policy of the selfish country led to a lot of problems. In this case, there was no international body to stop it. Because there wasn't one, all of the countries were acting on their own.

8 Sarajevo was assassinated (Sarajevo assassination)

A killing of Archduke Franz, prince of Austria, was what sparked the war right away. Sarajevo is the capital of Bosnia. The prince was killed in Sarajevo. The Austrian government said that Serbia was to blame for the death of the prince and 12 other people who were killed before. Strict rules have been set out. The Serbian Government wanted to solve the problem at a meeting of the world's most powerful people. The Government of Serbia said that it couldn't meet all of the conditions. Even though Serbia was praying for help, Austrian politicians and military officials didn't pay attention to what they said. It started on July 28, 1914, when the Austrian government declared war and told its army to invade Serbia. This was the start of the First World War, which lasted from July 28, 1914, until November 11, 1918.
